Another sad story, of which there are no shortage. Accident? Suicide? Homicide? Insufficient information.
Human life is inherently fragile. We all survive only because default human behavior is to cooperate, not kill.
A woman pulled from Topaz Lake on Wednesday has died, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities have identified her as Janneke Strong, 36, of Fort Bragg, Calif.
The cause of death has not been determined, pending an autopsy, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
Authorities are not sure how long she was in the lake and other circumstances.
About 1:48 p.m., a witness reported a person face down in approximately 4 feet of water along the North Shore of Topaz Lake, authorities said.

Human loss and misery didn’t begin with Marco Polo and gunpowder, and it wouldn’t end if the magical thinkers could do real magic and make the gunpowder go away.
These stories always contain a sad element in them. This one, alas, contains nothing but the sad element.
Be careful out there. Tell the people you love, you never know which conversation will be your last.

Amen. Always make sure the important people in your life know what they mean to you.I learned it the hard way 8 months ago when my fiance took her own life. The only solace I’ve taken from it is knowing I kissed her and told her ilu before I left for work that day…Now I tell my family and New girlfriend what they mean every day to the point of them rolling their eyes at it. But I don’t plan on changing my practice anytime soon.
